Dear Birthmother

Dear Birthmother,    

      Hello! We are Judd and Katy. It is nice to “meet” you. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to write to you and share a little about ourselves and our hopes for you and your baby. What a brave woman you are and what love you have for the child you are carrying! Even though we do not know you, we have been thinking of and praying for you every day since we made the decision to adopt.

     Judd and I have wanted to love and raise a child for many years now. We are 30 years old and have been married for almost 7 years. Judd is the worship pastor for our church and I (Katy) coordinate child sponsorships for a ministry that serves Haiti. We both love our jobs and the people we get to serve every day! I also taught elementary school for 5 years and loved it but felt the Lord leading me to serve students in a different way through my current job. We have always loved children! We enjoy spending time with our 3 nephews and with our friends’ children. We have become known as great babysitters and even the “baby whisper” in the church nursery. Haha!

     While Judd and I work hard, we enjoy spending time together and having fun with family and friends every chance we can get. Some of our favorite activities are skiing, cooking, kayaking, biking, hiking, reading, playing with our dog, and going to see movies. Judd loves building furniture for our home and for friends, as well as writing songs on his guitar and piano and spending time working out and playing racquetball at the gym. I love to decorate, sew, run, and attend classes at the gym. We both love spending time with friends and serving the people that God has placed in our lives. We can often be found hosting game nights or helping friends move. We get together with a group from our church every week for Bible study and enjoy rotating cooking for the group. We are blessed and very thankful to have a supportive, loving community to be a part of.

     Judd and I have many hopes for the baby whom God will bring to us to care for. We want to enjoy every minute of raising a child and make as many fun memories as possible! We desire to provide wonderful experiences that will help him or her grow and fulfill their highest potential and achieve their greatest dreams. We want our child to have strong values and grow to contribute to a community of people that he or she loves and desires to spend their life with. Most of all, we hope he or she will achieve the plans that God has for their life and we will do everything we can, with God’s power, to help this child to do so.

     We believe that God has a plan for every life. We will share with the child God brings to us that they are a gift each and every day. They will know that they are very loved by the mother who gave them life and wanted him or her to have every opportunity possible, and by the parents whose love grew strong as we waited for them to come in God’s timing. We are praying God’s blessings for you and for your precious baby. Thank you again for allowing us this opportunity to write to you. May you feel God’s love each and every day!
